Kit Slim exists for the case Kit Standard can't handle: an exhaust pipe with no pre-existing flange to weld a penetration onto, or an installer who isn't a certified welder. The V-Band clamp replaces the weld joint entirely — two half-rings tightened around a common lip, compressing the same fireproof and watertight packing used across the range — so the fitting closes in one clamping operation instead of a welding pass. That makes it the standard choice for generator OEMs who want to factory-fit the penetration onto a genset before it ships: the unit arrives already certified, and the end customer never touches a welder. It also has the smallest footprint of any Hell-Sea kit, since there's no flange geometry to accommodate, which matters on tight pipe runs inside a container or machinery space. Fire and watertight ratings match Kit Standard exactly — A60 to 1.000°C for 60 minutes, 2 bar watertight for 60 minutes — across the same DN32 to DN1000 range, so switching from a welded to a clamped installation is a fabrication decision, not a compliance trade-off.
